HELPING HAND MISSION’S PROGRAMS
DONATION PICK-UP SERVICE
HHM offers a pick-up service that will pick up items that are being donated from business, families, and/or individuals.
COMPUTER TRAINING
This program is still under development.
OPERATION FAN RELIEF
If you have a new or used fan or air conditioner you’d like to donate, drop it off at: 623 Rock Quarry Road or 501 New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.
OPERATION WARM CLOTHING
Warm clothing is available in the winter months for the homeless. Items such as gloves, sweaters, and coats can be picked up free of charge to persons in need.
DAILY FOOD BASKETS
HHM Daily Food Baskets Program provides uncooked, nutritional food (vegetables, cereals, bread and lean meats) to low-income individuals and families to get them through the times when they are unable to purchase food.
FOOD PANTRY
The New Bern House Food Pantry Program is set up to provide nutritional food to needy families to get them through the times when they are unable to purchase food.
SOUP KITCHEN
The goal of the New Bern House Soup Kitchen Program is to provide a hot, nutritious meal to all those in the community who are hungry.
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM
The goal of the New Bern House Transitional Housing Program is to provide a temporary home, tools, resources and opportunities for single mothers and other families, experiencing homelessness, to transition into independent living.
WHITE FLAG EMERGENCY SHELTER
The White Flag Emergency Shelter Program provides shelter for homeless individuals during extreme cold weather conditions.
YOUTH ENRICHMENT
The goal of the Youth Enrichment Program provides a safe, supervised environment for young people from needy families to go to meet their friends, socialize, and enjoy activities.
HELPING HAND MARCHING BAND
The Helping Hand Mission Marching Band is recognized across North Carolina and is known for its show stopping performances.
SELF-ESTEEM TEAM
The Self-Esteem Program teaches youth and young adults that the healthiest people are those with strong self-esteem and a sense of personal control.
TOYS FOR NEEDY CHILDREN
The goal of the Toys for Needy Children program is to provide a large selection of free educational games and toys to children from low-income families.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
The purpose of the After School Program is to provide a safe, supervised after-school alternative for children who arrive home from school to an empty house because their parents and/or caregivers are still at work.
BACK TO SCHOOL ASSISTANCE
The goal of the Back-to-School Assistance Program is to equip low-income children for their return to school by providing donated book bags and school supplies.
SUMMER CAMP
The goal of the HMM Summer Camp Program is to provide a safe, active, and fun summer camp experience for at-risk children.
